Going into Square Enix’s E3 2019 press conference, there were a couple of games that viewers were anticipating. One of those was Marvel’s Avengers, which is being developed by Crystal Dynamics. We’ve seen the small teaser last year and now gamers have been waiting to see just what this secret project was all about. Now that we got the initial reveal trailer for the game, it would have been easy to assume that this game may have featured an open world environment to explore and save. After all, this game is coming out after the highly popular and reviewed Marvel’s Spider-Man. However, that won’t be the case and here’s why.
It was noted on Eurogamer that Rose Hunt, the senior producer behind Marvel’s Avengers, felt that the Avengers needed to be in multiple areas around the world. Unlike Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4 that was set in one main area of the world, the Avengers are Earth’s protectors which means they are not staying in one particular place for too long. While Rose Hunt didn’t’ give any particulars as to where gamers can expect to go, but apparently we will be traveling around the world in order to save humanity from certain doom.
As mentioned, Marvel’s Avengers was shown off during Square Enix’s press conference but in case you missed the conference then you can check out the trailer above. For instance, we know that the game so far will feature Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and lastly, Iron Man. As for now, Marvel’s Avengers will be releasing on May 15, 2020, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
