Sony has announced that PS4 users will be able to capture gameplay on the system directly using a HDMI cable.
The news was announced at Sony's Tokyo Game Show press conference yesterday and confirmed later by Sony's head of third party relations Brad Dougles on Twitter:
I think we just announced that we're going to allow video capture of games over HDMI! "Details will follow soon."

Douglas promised that there will be more information "soon".
This means Sony will not enforce High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) limitations on PS4 so users can capture game footage directly using a HDMI in one of the console's ports.
Game capture was originally limited to the DualShock 4's 'Share' button but this has now been expanded due to popular demand.
The PlayStation 4 is set to be released in North America on November 15th, Europe on November 29th, Asia in December, and Japan in February, 2014.
