When it comes to the Nintendo Switch, we’ve seen a ton of big name hitters launch and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic platform for gamers. It’s certainly a step up from the Nintendo Wii U, but there is still some slight irks that gamers have to deal with. The online support hasn’t been the greatest and at times can feel limiting when it comes to connecting with friends. A great example of that will be the anticipated release of Super Mario Maker 2. This is a video game title that will have plenty of early adopters after its success on both the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS. However, if you’re hoping to enjoy the game with friends then you may be a bit out of luck in certain areas of the title.
Super Mario Maker 2 is a video game title that puts players in control of designing a Super Mario level. There’s everything you could want to be added thanks to the in-game tools. From making the aesthetics to appeal towards a specific Super Mario video game to the items, obstacles and enemy placements. But a new shred of information has come to light that may put a damper mood on potential players.
We already know that Super Mario Maker 2 will offer a multiplayer component but it seems that if you’re wanting to connect with friends and go through the game then you’ll need to be together locally. As it stands, the online component will only allow random players to be connected in order to establish fairness with the leaderboards. We’re not sure why there’s not a freestyle gameplay version of the online multiplayer that could allow friends to connect but perhaps this is something that could be added after launch.
At any rate, if you’re still looking to get the game once it releases then you’ll want to mark your calendars. Super Mario Maker 2 launches exclusively on the Nintendo Switch this June 28, 2019.
