Saints Row 4 knows its audience, as well as its own unique brand of humor. No longer a simple Grand Theft Auto clone with a touch of insanity, Volition’s open-world blockbuster has clawed its way into the hearts and minds of millions of players who just love to see whatever bizarre, over-the-top antics are coming next. Because of the fans’ fervor, the first DLC for the recently released sequel has been a big topic of discussion, and while we’re yet to see any official news on extra story content, two packs that add fresh items to the game have been discovered that seemingly laugh in the face of the upcoming GTA 5.
Brought up during the latest PlayStation Blogcast, the first DLC release, "GATV," is about as close as someone can get to just naming something “GTAV” without inciting a lawsuit. This pack will include Gat clothes, Gat Hair, and a Gat knifegun, since everyone needs a little bit more of series staple Johnny Gat in their lives. The second chunk of content that will release this week alongside Rockstar’s next project is the "Wild West" DLC pack, but there’s little information on this addition at this time.
Pricing hasn’t been discussed by publisher Deep Silver, as this wasn’t revealed through a press release or any other official method. Look to hear more about Saints Row 4, which we called, “as irreverently patriotic as Lady Liberty doing lines off Uncle Sam's boner,” later this week.
