To explain the excitement and size around this release, Sega revealed that Total War: Rome 2 took the spot as the most pre-ordered game in the Total War franchise. Total War: Rome 2 pre-orders amount to more than six times the amount of pre-orders for Creative Assembly's latest strategy game, Total War: Shogun II.
