Call of Duty: Ghosts will bring on a new generation of the world’s most popular first-person franchise, but don’t think that means that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game will be the biggest and best choices out there. The game's executive producer, Mark Rubin, actually pointed to the PC edition of Ghosts when talking about what should turn out to be the most visually impressive version of the bunch.
"PC is taking a different tack from previous games [in the series,]" Rubin told Kotaku in a recent interview.
In previous years, the Xbox 360 and PS3 assets were simply ported to the PC in an attempt to save time and effort. It made sense at the time, but now, that’s just not the case.
"Now, PC has its own set of assets," Rubin said. "It's going to look better than any Call of Duty we've ever made on PC. They're actually using an even higher version in many cases than the next-gen consoles, from a texture standpoint.”
It’s a new engine and a new generation, and thanks to the enhanced technology, women soldiers will now be included for the first time in a Call of Duty game. The rest of the big changes that will be seen in the game’s competitive side can be seen right here.
