Watch PlayStation Graphics Improve Over the Years

August 16, 2013 by Andrea Castellano

Video montage showing the evolution of PlayStation graphics.

With the PlayStation 4 launch quickly approaching, Sony released a video comparing previous generation Sony consoles to the PlayStation 4.

We all obviously know the power of existing technology, but seeing those old console graphics beside the graphics capable today, clearly shows just how big of a graphical jump each generation provides.

Many will argue that this generation's hardware only allows for a marginal upgrade, but if you look back at the launch of games on the Xbox 360 and PS3, those games don't even compare to what you will find on the same consoles now.

The above video shows clips for the ever evolving Metal Gear Solid and the impressive transformation of Final Fantasy 7 and to the latest gameplay from Final Fantasy 15.

The PlayStation 4 will release this fall for $399.
