DICE has today announced that Battlefield 4 players will have access to Field Upgrades which will replace the Class Specializations from Battlefield 3.
The Field Upgrades are awarded to players on a per-match basis meaning the better you play, the better the upgrades you unlock. After each match field upgrades will be retired but hasn't been confirmed yet whether all upgrades earned will be reset.
In Battlefield 3, players ranked up and unlocked weapons and specializations such as Sprint, Ammo and Frag which improved speed, ammo quantities and hand grenade count respectively. There were also squad versions of these specializations as well.
Yesterday, DICE producer Patrick Back revealed that there will be dynamic multiplayer factions in Battlefield 4 meaning that players will be able to play as and against Russia, China and the United States.
Battlefield 4 is set for release on PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One later this year. You can see a new screenshot of the game at the top of this post.
