It's been a while since Konami promoted any of its developers into top positions, but the recent shakeups over at the publisher have resulted in a restructuring of their ranks.
Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series and well-respected figure in the gaming industry, has been promoted to the position of vice president. He joins Shinji Enomoto (of Pro Evolution Soccer fame) as one of the company's newest VPs.
Kojima will still be involved with Kojima Productions as he has been in the past, but the new position is said to offer him more creative freedom with Konami and allow him to make decisions that would otherwise be out of his hands.
