Pokemon X and Y are shaping up to be the biggest, most expansive and well-made games of the franchise to date. While we are all still waiting to get our hands on the games themselves, we're left with tiny bits and morsels to tide us over until their release on October 12 later this year.
The latest in this long line of bread crumbs reveals to us an updated battle screen, new Pokemon and the more inuitive Player Search System that will come with the X/Y iterations of Pokemon.
The updates to the Combat Screen are not that profound, but definitely serve to make things a bit brighter and more accessible. We've provided a screenshot of this new loadout below:
The above screenshot also comes with another new addition to the Pokemon franchise: Talonflame. Talonflame is a Fire/Flying Type Pokemon and is the evolution of Fletchling.
Another new Pokemon comes as Pancham, who is a Fighting Type. Pancham evolves into Pangoro, though by which means this happens is currently unknown. A screenshot of the Pokemon can be seen below:
The last piece of information is pertinent mainly to the updated Player Search System. While Game Freak has used communication systems such as this before – like the PokeGear – it looks to be updated and connotative of more uses than just meeting old opponents again for a rematch. While these purposes are unclear at this time, it's fun to guess.
