Ubisoft has just released a new cinematic trailer for Assassin's Creed: Black Flag.
The trailer starts in an evening in the Caribbean, 1715, showing dancing and singing, and cutting to scenes of a ship being prepared for sailing. We see some shots of Blackbeard and Edward Kenway as a hearty voice shouts: "Enjoy your wine and women, lad, for tomorrow we dance with death!" And then it cuts to the Ubisoft logo.
The trailer continues, showing off that you can hunt for hammerhead sharks and whales, and Edward, now wearing the Assassin's Order garb and flanked by pirates, approaching and unsheathing his swords. The trailer also reveals aspects of naval combat, such as throwing explosive-loaded barrels adrift towards enemy ships, as well as more conventional techniques as shooting cannonballs and ramming towards other ships.
Also revealed were thunderstorms. You will have to control the Jackdaw in the open seas through these storms, and even engage in battles while one is going on. Edward is shown able to scale up the mast easily, jump ropes like junge vines, and even man the Jackdaw's wheel, along with the usual range of Assassin abilities.
Most interesting of all is what appears to be the reveal of possibly antagonists in the game. Clearly, the pirates are show fighting Redcoats several times. We don't know the exact historical details, but they may be in conflict with company colonies like the East India Co., or just as likely fighting privateers or other pirates.
Either way, this trailer is just serving to hype us up on the game and we can't wait to learn more.
