Christmas came early if you've hit Club Nintendo Elite status, as Nintendo has revealed the Elite rewards for 2013. Aside from the usual batch of games, highlights include their 2014 calendar and a Majora's Mask soundtrack on CD.
Joining Club Nintendo is as simple as buying a Nintendo system and/or game, making a new Club Nintendo account, and registering your purchases with Club Nintendo. You can earn coins for registering Nintendo products, and earning coins for each Club Nintendo year (July 1 to June 3) can get you Elite status for that year, making you eligible for these rewards. In particular, earning as much as 300 coins gives you Gold status, with 600 coins getting you Platinum status.
Originally released 2000 in Japan under Pioneer LDC, and in America as a Nintendo Power exclusive, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Original Soundtrack is the big Platinum reward for this year. The soundtrack is almost exclusively written by Koji Kondo, except for three tracks by Toru Minegishi. Also a Platinum exclusive is a three poster set featuring Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, and an 8-bit Luigi straight out of Super Mario Bros.
Platinum and Gold members alike can avail of the 2014 calendar, with a built-in display stand. Each month's artwork depicts a different game for the given year. Interestingly enough, the picture they have on preview is from the calendar last year. Is it possible some of Nintendo's unnanounced games will be on this calendar?
Games revealed as Club Nintendo Elite rewards include Super Smash Bros (N64), WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, Super Mario Land and Sakura Samurai. WarioWare D.I.Y. was originally released on the DS, but this game is coming out on the Wii (available on Wii U via Wii mode) and will allow you to play games that you or friends have already made using the DS version of the game.
All digital rewards are delivered immediately and all physical rewards get free shipping.
