Futuremark has been releasing benchmark suites for the PC for years. Their software has been used by hardcore gamers to measure the length of their e-peen, which is something of a pastime for the PC master race.
Today, Futuremark announced its plans to release PCMark 7, a new benchmark compatible with Windows 7 and the latest technology available on the PC.
PCMark 7 will offer benchmarks for testing solid state drives, as well as support for new form factors like notebooks and tablets that run on Windows 7. The software will support everything from lightweight PCs to heavyweight gaming rigs with a variety of different hardware suites.
The software is currently listed as "coming soon" with future details still forthcoming from the company.
