EVO 2013 happening this week!

July 9, 2013 by Ryan Parreno

New details include Skullgirls side tournament.

It's official: Evolution Championship Series 2013 will be held in the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, this coming July 12 to 14. We confirmed the tournament lineup two weeks ago. Since then, more details have been provided, including Skullgirls and Street Fighter Super Turbo side tournaments, panels, additional pools, etc.

Streams will be handled by Team Spooky and iPlayWinner. Evo will have a $ 12 subscription to get premium access to the  whole tournament, with three dedicated stream channels, no ads, and access to high quality streams as well as the archives. As always, a free 'poverty stream' will also be available.

Skullgirls was awarded a special side tournament after their performance during the breast cancer charity drive. Pools begin Friday at 4 PM and resume 1 PM the next day. Depending on how quickly the tournament proceeds, Quarter and Semi Finals will be held between the two days so that they can hold Grand Finals Saturday, 8 to 9 PM. The Tournament Finals is guaranteed a stream.

For SF Super Turbo, EVO has planned a spectacular Super Turbo Revival, with four separate tournaments: Character Lock Tournament (you can only use one character), Ratio Tournament (choose characters based on assigned point ratios), 3 vs 3 and a Traditional Tournament (you can switch characters between matches). The whole Super Turbo Revival will run all of Friday and Saturday 8 AM to 11 PM, and it will all be streamed.

Panels have also been assigned Friday and Saturday as so:

 Friday

12:00 PM to 1:00 PM: Indie Game Developers

2:00 PM to 4:00 PM: Meet the Skullgirls Team

5:00 PM to 7:00 PM: Maximillian panel

Saturday

10:00 AM to 11:30 AM: Killer Instinct

12:00 PM to 1:00 PM: Street Fighter Nation.

2:00 PM to 3:00 PM:  Mad Catz

There will also be Salty Suites for KOF and Smash, and anime community pools (in plain English, more streams for fighting games 🙂 ). For more details, including stream and registration links, hit the source below. Have a good EVO weekend everyone!
