The Last of Us has retained its position at the top of the UK charts this week despite a 46% drop in sales on last week's figures. This is the fourth week for which The Last of US has sat at the top, which makes it the first game to last so long in first place so far in 2013. For comparison, both BioShock Infinite and Dead Island: Riptide stayed at the top for three weeks. The feat is perhaps particularly impressive because The Last of Us is only available on the PlayStation 3, though this is a quiet week so we can't guess sales figures.
With little in the way of new releases, the top of the charts looks similar to that of last week. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, the disc equivalent to the popular Minecraft: XBLA Edition, is still at number two. FIFA 13 has jumped back up to third place despite a 26% drop in sales, which means that Animal Crossing: New Leaf has dropped to fourth. Assassin's Creed III has managed to lose only 3% of its sales compared to last week, which UKIE theorises is due to price promotions, and has thus actually managed to move up the charts to number five.
