According to a preview on GameReactor magazine in Sweden, the game is said to be heavily influenced by Mirror's Edge, Mass Effect, Riddick and Blade Runner. If true, the difference between Prey and its sequel may be like night and day.
The player takes on the role of Killian Samuels, a sheriff and prison guard who is said to be dextrous and can perform Parkour moves.
"If the first Prey was the Luke Skywalker version of the story, Prey 2 is Boba Fett's story," said the game's producer at developer Human Head.
As opposed to Prey's cramped spaces and headache-inducing geometry, the gameplay of Prey 2 is said to take place in wide-open spaces, with the game being described as "open".
It will not be featuring any "next-gen" gimmicks like 3D, Kinect, or the PlayStation Move, nor will there be a multiplayer mode, as Human Head wants to focus entirely on developing the game's single player adventure.
