Most gamers may be looking forward to Duke Nukem Forever to play its offbeat single player story, that involves the one man army of Duke against an alien invasion.
Be that as it may, the upcoming FPS is said to feature four multiplayer modes that will undoubtedly rekindle the nostalgia of old timers who played Duke Nukem 3D over Kali and other matchmaking services over a decade ago.
In a reveal in the Official Xbox Magazine, the game will feature Dukematch, Team Dukematch, Capture the Babe, and Hail to the King.
Ten maps are said to be included in the game upon launch, including "Morning Wood", an old west town, a casino-inspired level and other areas from the single player game. The game will also come with an XP system inspired by Call of Duty, allowing players to customize their Duke.
It should be noted that in Capture the Babe, teams must capture the opposing team's babe, who has a tendency "freak out" when captured and must be "given a smack to quiet her down" according to a report on Duke Nukem fansite Duke4.net.
The revelation that players will have to smack around a woman for the sake of entertainment will be the breaking point for some players. You don't have to be a feminist to be offended by the inclusion of this sort of content, which isn't at all inclusive to any player who doesn't find Duke Nukem's brand of misogynistic humor funny.
With the inclusion of Capture the Babe, Duke Nukem Forever is no longer walking a fine line between "satire" and "poorly written joke," because as far as I can see, the game does nothing to downplay, much less denigrate the viewpoints it's supposed to be making fun of, instead championing the kind of culture most modern gamers shouldn't want to associate themselves with.
