2K Sports has released a trailer for the upcoming title WWE 2K14 and has announced that The Rock will be the cover star of this year's game on WWE Raw last night.
The new trailer entitled 'Become Immortal' features several WWE stars including Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, John Cena, and Dolph Ziggler and many others in a mix of both live action and in-game footage.
As previously mentioned, The Rock is set to be the title's cover star and is well known outside of the wrestling world by movie fans with Fast & Furious 6 being his most recent feature; he also headlines The Hero on TNT and his broad appeal may have influenced 2K's decision to select him for the game's box art.
In a 2K press release The Rock commented "I am exceptionally grateful to be chosen for the cover of WWE 2K14 and serve as the first cover Superstar under 2K's leadership. I want the artwork to stand out and set a new standard for all WWE video games from 2K, both today and in the future."
While this isn't the first WWE game it does mark the beginning of a new era for the series since 2K owner Take Two Interactive officially acquired the license from defunct publisher THQ earlier this year following the company's bankruptcy filing.
As with other 2K Sports' titles such as NBA 2K and MLB 2K the name of game has been changed from WWE '14 to WWE 2K14.
The title is set to be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 29th in North America and on November 1st in Europe. You can see the game's box art below.
