Over on the Steam forums Valve's announced that the Steam Trading Card scheme will leave beta on June 26th and will then be available for everyone to use; in addition, they've also teased something "everyone can be excited about".
While it's unclear what this feature might be several listings for a game sharing function were recently discovered in the Steam database.
The feature – which appears to be similar to Microsoft's now removed game sharing plan for Xbox One – will allow you to give your games to friends, for free. However, the number of people who can use a games at any given time is limited and when the 'owner' of the content wishes to play the game other players will be asked to leave.
Microsoft abandoned the feature when they reversed course on many of their controversial Xbox One policies.
According to Valve "Making trading cards available to all Steam users is a step towards an event we think everyone can be excited about…"
What do you think is the works? Of course, it does seem more likely that we'll get game sharing on Steam long before Valve announce Half Life 3.
