The Arkham series of games by WBIE will be making its handheld debut with the release of Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, coming to the 3DS and Vita on October 25.
Developed by Armature, a studio founded by several leads behind the Metroid Prime trilogy, Blackgate is best described as a 2.5D Metroidvania title, which serves as a companion to Batman: Arkham Origins in the same way the recent Castlevania for the 3DS does.
Within the game, players will continue the storyline of Origins and discover details about Batman's mysterious past.
Today, the game's publisher released a host of screenshots, all of which can be seen below.
The studio developing the game recently confirmed that both versions of the title will be using a modified version of the Bluepoint Engine used to create PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, and that the game will be virtually identical on both the 3DS and Vita, except for higher resolution graphics on the Vita and 3D options on the 3DS.
