A new L.A. Noire gameplay video released by Rockstar shows off the game’s investigation and interrogation mechanics.
Every case that the player takes on begins with a crime scene, which is filled with possible clues that the player may gather–or miss completely, if he or she isn’t observant, as the case may be. Just like in real life, a single clue can impact the investigation.
After collecting clues, players must then hold an interrogation with witnesses and possible suspects. Here’s where it gets interesting: players must judge whether the character is lying or telling the truth based on what he or she says and the evidence the player has available. Players must also read the character’s facial expressions and reactions. Your decisions determine the outcome of the case.
