H1Z1 Open Beta PS4 Launches Today

May 22, 2018 by Jordan Coetsee

The open beta for Daybreaks third-person battle royale title launches today!

H1Z1 open beta for PS4 has launched today. If you are one for more realistic gameplay over cartoony graphics and fort building, then this is definitely a title worth checking out.

While H1Z1 may have fallen flat over the past couple of years, since January DayBreak have been hard at work to reignite their third-person shooter – firstly by offering it as F2P on steam, and by introducing a vehicular take on the Battle Royale genre.  Now it seems that the title is ready to take flight on Sony’s console – H1Z1 is set to receive an open beta May 22 for PS4.

What’s pretty great is that PS4 release won’t just be an ordinary port – it will make full use of the DualShock 4 controller, Car keys are removed, giving players instant access to vehicles, inventory has been reworked making it easier to gear up and six new weapons have also been introduced.

H1Z1 on PS4 is designed specifically for the console and focuses exclusively on the core elements that make battle royale exciting. The game features a new weapon progression system, fully reworked UI, and new weapons and gear.

“H1Z1 on PS4 is true battle royale mayhem. We have reimagined the game for PlayStation 4 and have designed it to accentuate the essentials of battle royale that make the genre so exciting to watch and play,” said H1Z1 Producer Terrence Yee. “We have added key gameplay differentiators to keep the game frantic and fun — an action shooter’s dream of fast-paced battle royale.”

The control scheme for H1Z1 on PS4 has been tailor-made to keep players focused on the action. H1Z1 now features a grab-and-go equipment system, simplifying loot collection and inventory management; a familiar radial weapon menu so players can quickly switch between guns and grenades; and a revamped HUD that delivers vital information at-a-glance. The crafting system has also been removed from the game.

Gamers will be able to pre-order a special bundle at $29.99 adding some exclusive goodies to the title. If you do not wish to purchase the title – the game will run as F2P.
