Quake Champions, Bethesda’s modern take on the OG Quake III multiplayer shooter, is set to receive a fun practise addition to the title. For those who aren’t ready to hop into the madness just yet, Bethesda will be adding bots to Quake Champions. The bots are set to be crafty (being able to pull off sneaky moves and special abilities human players would be able to) but not too intelligent – in fact, players will be able to select from 6 different difficulties to switch up their playstyle.
The mode has not been made available offline, so you’ll have to have a constant internet connection to test it out. Hopefully, Bethesda will add this in at some stage.
Developed by id Software, in conjunction with Saber Interactive, Quake® Champions is a return to the frenetic, fast-paced competition that established Quake as the originator of the multiplayer shooter genre more than 20 years ago. Quake Champions delivers the dark mythos of the first Quake combined with the groundbreaking multiplayer mayhem of Quake III Arena with a major modern twist – Champions.
Quake Champions is available now, exclusively on PC. You can check out the video with technical director John Dean announcing the introduction of bots to the game below.
