Sony Confirms 2013 European Launch for PS4

UPDATE: Speaking to Edge Sony commented "We announced at the PlayStation Meeting event on Feb 20th that PS4 would be coming 2013… the adverts are simply re-stating that message. More information about PS4 and all PlayStation platforms will be announced at E3." 

ORIGINAL STORY: A newspaper ad taken out by Sony and spotted by MCV has confirmed that Sony plan to launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe this year.

Sony had not officially announced a release window for the system in Europe although it has been reported that the company is "prepared to do whatever it takes" to avoid a delay in launching the system in the region. 

Both GameStop and UK retailer GAME have also announced that they expect a global launch for the system this year. The PlayStation 3 was not released in Europe until March 2007, it had been released in North America in November 2006.

At the bottom of the ad is a mention of this month's Champion's League final; seemingly confirming earlier reports that Sony intend to show the first PS4 TV commercial during the match. 

Next month, at Sony's pre-E3 media briefing, the company plans to finally reveal the actual design of the system. Earlier this week they released a teaser for the system's unveiling.
