The developers of the Allods series Mail.ru announced (via GI.biz) the partnership with Obsidian at the Russian game developer's conference KRI late last week. The two studios are set to collaborate on Skyforge, a new MMORPG currently in development for the PC.
"Skyforge is a very interesting and promising project. I am glad that Obsidian Entertainment is involved in working on this game," said Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart. "I am confident that the cooperation with the Allods Team will be a great experience for all of us."
It's unknown in what capacity Obsidian will be contributing to the game's development, although there's a good chance it'll be related to the game's story and writing, given the pedigree of its developers.
Skyforge, which was first announced in May 2012, is set to launch on the PC in 2014.
Beyond Skyforge, Obsidian Entertainment is currently in the process of developing Project Eternity, an old-school RPG for the PC.
