Ready for yet another trip to the world of Olympic sports? A new, graphically enhanced version of the popular Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games will be hitting the Wii U, featuring figure skating, snowboarding, curling, and a slew of other winter games that will pit the two popular mascots against each other.
This won’t just be a repeat of what we’ve seen in the past, though. Dream events, where stages are built in the world of Sonic and Mario, will include interesting dynamic moves that can be used. These wouldn’t be possible in the real world, letting players experience a unique taste of their favorite characters. It’s a nice new addition that will help give the game a fresh flavor not seen in past games in the series.
Along with this, Sonic: Lost World has been announced for the Wii U as an exclusive. How is it only coming to Nintendo’s console? As of today, Nintendo has entered a serious partnership with Sega. That means that all those bad Sonic games we’ve been force to play may be coming to an end, as Nintendo will be playing a major role in bringing the action-platformers to the public. It’s unclear how long the partnership will last, what other games are in the works, or how much of a hand the Mario maker will really have in the core development of the franchise. Still, it’s exciting news if you’re just as sick of playing all those god-awful Sonic games Sega has been pumping out.
