New Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flags Gameplay Trailer Released

May 15, 2013 by Stephen Daly

We’ll need a bigger boat.

Ubisoft has released a new gameplay trailer for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flags which focuses on naval combat as well as elements of the game's story.

Edward Kenway, the title's protagonist, says "I used to fight for a king. I obeyed men of privilage, wealth. Now, I bend my knee to no man. My only oath is to my crew and together we will take back what is rightfully ours.

"With blood and steel we shall stand up to the powerful. Captains will curse our flag and kings will fear it. As long as empires generate wealth and riches, we will be there to bleed them dry."

We then see the slogan "defy order," likely referring to series' enemy the Templar Order. During the trailer we see Edward assassinate a range of people as well as taking on the Red Coats. In addition, the Assassin combats a shark and is seen jumping from the mast of a ship into the ocean.

Naval combat, introduced in Assassin's Creed 3, is also heavilty featured. You can watch the trailer below.

Black Flags is set to be released on November 1st for PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360. The game will also be coming to PS4, PC and the next Xbox.

Yesterday, Ubisoft issued a new trailer focusing on the history of pirates. Last week, they discussed developing the game for PS4.
