Halo creator Bungie has revealed a host of new details about it's upcoming shooter Destiny on its official website.
Detailing the game's three character classes Bungie notes that Warlocks "have long studied the Traveler," a floating orb that hovers over the Earth and offers protection to the last human city. This class has mastered "some of its arcane energies. Its true purpose still remains a great mystery, but discovering truth has always driven you into the unknown. Now, our enemies are the only thing that stands between you and the lost wonders of our Golden Age."
Titans meanwhile seem to be strong builders but also warriors, the website notes "The first Titans built the Wall," which defends the last city, "and gave their lives to defend it. Now, you stand in the same high place, steadfast and sure, protecting all who shelter in your shadow. You hail from a long line of heroes, forged from strength and sacrifice. Our enemies may be deadly and merciless, but so are you."
The Hunters meanwhile seem adapt at surviving beyond the Wall "Hunters once prowled the wilderness and wastelands, taking big risks for even bigger rewards. You're no outlaw – at least, not anymore – but making your own luck has always meant bending the rules. Your unique brand of daring and ingenuity is needed now more than ever."
Aside from locations on Earth the website also looks are some aspects of the Moon, Venus and Mars although details are scarce at the moment.
Meanwhile more information has been revealed about the enemies you'll be facing in Destiny. The Fallen are described as "A scourge, tirelessly engaged in war against us and scavenging all that remains. They say their Houses have claimed every planet and moon we ever touched. If you see one in the wild, know there are many more nearby, and deon't hesitate to send their screaming into the black."
The Cabal appear to be a race native to the Red Planet "It's been years since they first made their presence known at the Twilight Gap. While early reports have them centered on or around Mars, the true might of the Cabal is still wrapped in speculation. Awaiting more reports from the Vanguard."
Destiny is set to be released on PC, Xbox 360, the next Xbox as well as PS3 and PS4. Versions of the game on Sony's consoles will include additional content, Destiny will be the first Bungie game on a PlayStation platform. UPDATE: As has been pointed out in the comments Bungie West's Oni was released on PS2 in 2001 though the title was ported by Rockstar Toronto. It was Bungie West's only game.
