New information from Intel lets us know that Asus will be shipping out the updated Intel 6 series-based motherboards this week, after the new design is released by Intel. Recently ASUS hit a bump with their current Intel 6 series chipset, with the new updated Chipset ASUS hopes to prevent any further inconvenience and interruptions. Users can find out if they are using the Intel 6 series chipset by looking for lables showing "New B3 Revision" on products and their packaging. Also the chipset can also be verified through the onboard sticker, BIOS, ASUS SATA Verifier or CPUID's CPU-Z utility.
Intel indicated the design error occurs only at certain SATA 3gb/s ports. ASUS has created a SATA Verifier utility to help any customers with the chipset to clearly identify any unaffected SATA 6Gb/s ports for the product. You can find the download at:
