Warner Bros. Montreal has its hands full with the recently announced Batman: Arkham Origins, which will act as a prequel to Rocksteady’s acclaimed action series. Taking over such a massively popular franchise won’t be easy, but it looks as if the studio is on the hunt for new talent in order to help “expand the DC Comics universe in the interactive space."
Origins is only expected to make its way to current-gen consoles, but this particular listing (discovered by OXM) is asking for an "expert in next generation AAA action/adventure games." The team’s current project will be launching Oct. 25, and if rumors are to be believed, neither of the newest consoles will actually be available for purchase until at least November.
So, it’s unlikely that it's a next-generation port of Origins. This will be someone hired specifically to lead a team creatively on a project that’s possibly geared for a few years down the road.
“The Creative Director leads a project’s core team to develop and hone the overall vision of the game in terms of design, aesthetic, and control elements,” reads the post. “This individual is also adept at communication with the rest of the team, and ensures that all the key components of the project are aligned from a creative standpoint. He or she is also jointly accountable (with the Producer/Exec Producer) for representing the game to top WB executives and evangelizing the game both internally and externally.”
For now, all we can do is speculate. What we do know is that the team is developing both a home console and handheld version of Origins, with a possible multiplayer mode being worked on at this time.
