Bungie have revealed that they still have a considerable amount of development remaining on their upcoming Destiny, the studio's first new IP since launching Halo: Combat Evolved in 2001.
In the latest Mail Sack feature on their website Bungie were asked if the graphics, game world and character models for the title were finished to which the resounding answer was a negative.
"No, no and no," the developer commented. "Everything you've seen so far is work in progress. There is still a lot of work to be done. This is why you are made to wait, friends. Not because we like to tease you. Not because we know that you can take it. It's because we're still working."
Bungie officially confirmed Destiny in February with a teaser trailer. A few days later at the PlayStation 4's announcement event the studio announced that the game would be a PS4 launch title – Sony's next console is due to be released 'Holiday 2013' – and Bungie have also promised exclusive content for the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game. This will be the first ever Bungie game on PlayStation.
They have also said the game will look "awesome" regardless of what platform it's played on. Bungie have revealed that Destiny was inspired by TV shows such as Lost, The Wire and Battlestar Galactica.
Destiny is set to be published by Activision later this year and will be released on PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and the next Xbox.
