Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Introduces Mobile App, ‘The Watch’

April 26, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

Assassin’s Creed 4 comes with an exclusive mobile app.

Black Flag

Ubisoft has pumped out a new trailer for something called The Watch, which just happens to be a new promotional hub for the studio's upcoming title, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Like Initiates before it, The Watch is expected to offer freebies leading up to and beyond the release of the game for gamers with access to the site.

According to the studio, The Watch will offer users with news and information about the game, in addition to updates about upcoming and on-going events, and special features from the game's developers.

A full-length trailer of the app and all it has to offer can be seen right here, below:

The Watch will also offer a host of interactive activities that players can, well, interact with by solving puzzles, quizzes, and taking part in assassination contracts that reward the player with new browser-based "missions" for players to partake in. Much like everything else the series has going for it, players can earn levels by accomplishing these missions and unlocking new tiers of information and features that serve to enrich their immersion in the world of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.

The Watch is accessible as a desktop application and through smartphones and tablets.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is set to launch on the PC, Xbox 360, Wii U and PlayStation 3 on October 29. It will also be out on next-gen platforms including the PlayStation 4 at a later date.
