As we find ourselves in the second half of April (that means we're nearly a third of the way through 2013, folks), Sony has published a blog post to let us know good and early what content will be coming to PlayStation Plus in Europe in May. After a reminder of what games have joined the Instant Game Collection (i.e. that group of games PlayStation Plus members can download for free) during April – The Cave, Lord of the Rings War in the North, Virtue's Last Reward, and Thomas Was Alone – we're reminded that each set of five games consists of three for PS3 and two for Vita, which is pretty impressive given the lack of a substantial catalogue for the latter.
As we discovered this time last week, one of the games we'll get in May is Hitman Absolution, which will join the collection on May 1. This game got a Metacritic score of 83 on PS3 (79 on Xbox 360 and PC), so it's probably worth a look if you like that kind of thing, especially if you won't have to pay anything for the privilege.
Also on May 1, we'll be getting Catherine, the controversial psychological puzzle adventure that tells the story of a guy who has to decide whether or not to cheat on his girlfriend Katherine with the titular Catherine. One might be inclined to be embarrassed to be seen buying this in a store, so being able to download it for free is a bonus.
The third PS3 title is Malicious, a PSN action game that was included in the April collection.
As for the Vita, we get Sine Mora (May 8) and Velocity Ultra (May 15). Both are 2D shoot 'em ups that look colourful and fast-paced.
Any EU Plus members out there going to try any of these while they're free? Anyone tempted to sign up for one title in particular?
