CD Projekt Red, developers of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, have big aspirations. They have stated before that they hope the game ends up being bigger than 2011's smash hit: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. While this is looked at by many as a pipe dream, the game's precursor proved itself a force to be reckoned with.
Today marked the release of some more Witcher 3-related media in the form of four screenshots. While four doesn't sound like much at all, a lot can be inferred from their perusal. Most notable of these observations is the improvement in graphics from game-to-game. While the second iteration offered high-end PC users a chance to really test their machines, the third title will more than likely up the ante.
Secondly, the diversity of environments in Wild Hunt looks to be pretty amazing. Icy shipyards, barren wastelands and homey inns all look to be present in the game. Many RPGs do offer gamers a sense of relief when making your way out of harsh environments, and this title looks to be taking full advantage of that.
While it's still far too early to make any conclusions about Wild Hunt, it's fair to say that the game looks to be coming along nicely. With the franchise seeing so much success as of late, CD Projekt Red knows what gamers want and how to tailor the experience for them. It will be interesting to see if the game actually offers any comparison to Skyrim when it releases some in 2014.
