Konami’s spin-off of Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Survive, has been subject to major scrutiny since its announcements – many players felt disappointed and frustrated at Konami’s attempts to extend the Metal Gear Franchise without its creator – that and it’s absurd sci-fi survival setting (which nobody really asked for).
Since it’s launch earlier this week, it’s come under even more fire with its heavy use of microtransactions. Now we’ve just learned that if you wish to create another character (IOW, another save slot), you would have to pay 10$ to gain access to this. This has fueled even more frustration towards to title.
While yes, it’s important to note that the game didn’t release at a full-triple A price, possibly warranting the host of microtransactions – charging a player for a save slot is absolutely ridiculous.
‘METAL GEAR SURVIVE builds upon METAL GEAR SOLID V’S enduring stealth action gameplay while introducing the new elements of exploration and survival to create a bold new experience.
METAL GEAR SURVIVE is a spin off from the main METAL GEAR SOLID V story that takes place in a strange alternative universe.
Create your own character and learn to survive. Scavenge resources, craft weapons, build a base camp and explore the unknown while developing the survival skills necessary in this hostile environment.’
Metal Gear Survive is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
