The release date for Battlefield 4 may have been accidentally leaked out ahead of any official announcement through EA Games' German arm. The German EA Games page on Facebook revealed that the first-person shooter will be coming to Europe on October 31, 2013.
A screenshot of the page, captured by Battlefield fansite Battlefieldo.com, can be seen below. Interestingly enough, the "World of EA" page seems to have been removed after the the picture surfaced.
Battlefield 4 is currently in development at Sweden-based studio DICE and is set to take place largely in China. The game's single-player campaign is set to offer a somewhat free-form experience (at least in contrast to Call of Duty), emphasizing the game's capacity for large maps.
The release date leak seems to be in line with a previous leak that suggested the game would be released in the United States on October 29, 2013. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to suggest that the game would be out only two days later in Europe. Given EA's tendency to stagger the releases of its games worldwide, the release dates appear to be very much in line with what we've come to expect.
The game is set for release on the PC and both current and next-gen console platforms.
