BioShock Infinite has repeated its success for a second week by remaining at the top of the UK video game charts, according to UKIE. In its launch week, the game outsold its predecessor – BioShock 2 – by around 9,000 units, so it's no surprise that it's still doing well. BioShock Infinite currently has a Metacritic “Metascore” of 95 (on PC and PS3; 94 on Xbox 360), so if those reading the praise-filled reviews head out to buy a copy we can expect to see it stay near the top of the charts for a while yet.
Tomb Raider is also still doing well, four weeks after its launch, and remains at number two in the charts. The reboot did get a boost in sales from a price promotion last week, however, so it's possible it would be lower if still full price.
Number three in the charts is a debut from Defiance, an online open-world shooter from Trion Worlds, with what UKIE calls a “strong” launch. The accompanying TV series on the Syfy channel will launch in the UK on April 16.
The rest of the top ten is pretty standard, with FIFA 13 sticking it out at number four, Luigi's Mansion 2 at number five, Gears of War: Judgment slipping to number six, Call of Duty: Black Ops II remaining at number seven, and Assassin's Creed III at number eight. But Skylanders Giants has made it back up to the top ten, climbing up to number nine from lower down in the charts for an unknown reason.
