You might've thought that Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was an overly elaborate April Fool's gag for the occasion, but we've got news for you: it's not.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a bonafide game based off Far Cry 3 that's got a very 1980s aesthetic that sees your character—one who appears to have robotic arms, from the looks of things—make his way through a top secret laboratory and a hidden nuclear launch site that looks like something out of the Aliens franchise, or XCOM. By the way, you're not playing Jason Brody. Blood Dragon has a new protagonist: Mark IV Cyber Commando Sergeant Rex Power Colt.
A host of screenshots were leaked today, ahead of whatever plans Ubisoft had for unveiling the game.
From what we know of Blood Dragon, it's not a simple DLC, but a full game that just so happens to use the Far Cry 3 title. We do not know if you'll need to own Far Cry 3 to play Blood Dragon or if it'll be sold as a standalone.
We'll keep you up to date with the news as it breaks.
