Want to try out The Elder Scrolls Online but not yet received an invitation to the beta? Bethesda will bring the game to PAX East and let fans try it there. Didn't manage to get a ticket to PAX before they sold out? Don't worry, Bethesda is so keen to have fans try the game that it has planned a whole event around just that. It's called the “347th Annual Tamriel Beer Garden”, and while it takes place during PAX East, it doesn't look like you'll need a PAX ticket to gain entry. In fact, according to the olde-worlde-style poster Bethesda has created for the event, admission is free.
There are caveats, of course. You have to be 13 or older, and if you're 18 then you need to find a parent or guardian to accompany you. Entry will also be first come, first served, so if the event proves to be wildly popular then you may not get in at all. But if that doesn't faze you, and you can get to “The Castle Meeting Place” on 100 Columbus Avenue in Boston on March 23 (6-11pm), then go for it.
Aside from an opportunity to play the game, this event will also provide “local merchants” (read: swag for you to buy, presumably including the three alliance tee shirts that will be available at PAX East), “exotic foods” (Tamriel-inspired dishes of some kind), “travelling musicians”, a “photo playset” (whatever that is), and “prizes & gambling” (the latter presumably only for those over the age of 18).
Sound like your kind of thing? Free next Saturday? Then head on down, and be sure to let us know what you think of what you find.
