Famed video games composer Jeremy Soule has launched a Kickstarter campaign, aimed with funding the release of his upcoming piece, Symphony No. 1, "The Northerner" (Opus 1). His first foray into classical music composition outside of the video games arena, the project asks a mere $10,000, which as of this writing has already been met. You can still donate your cash however and receive any of the reward packages left available; an autographed copy of the CD runs for only $15. Other rewards include personalized autographed CDs, a spot in the liner notes, autographed and bound copies of the composition score, and for one lucky person with $1000 to burn, Soule's handwritten conductor's manuscript.
I already own an item from Jeremy Soule, the wonderful four disc soundtrack to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that came autographed with a $50 pre-order. It's among my prize possessions so I'm happy to plunk down such a modest sum this time around. I've yet to purchase any discs of his other works, but they include Oblivion, Morrowind, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, the Guild War series, and so many more.
