While yes, we know that Monster Hunter World is going to be a pretty massive game – we weren’t really sure whether it will be following the trend of many other open-world games whereby players have a short campaign and more side content to keep the end game more interesting.
Now the devs have stated that the title will actually take a decent amount of time to finish, 40-50hrs to be exact.
Speaking to German online magazine Mein-MMO, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto said the average player will likely take around 40 to 50 hours to complete the game’s story, and they will spend more playtime crafting and upgrading their gear afterward. Director Yuya Tokuda added that players will be able to enjoy a host of free post-launch content, coming in the form of free weekly updates.
In other Monster Hunter news, you’ll need 12.94GB of space on your console to play the title If you happen to own an Xbox One X, the game is enhanced featuring support for HDR. PS4 players can expect a similar space requirement for their console.
Monster Hunter: World launches on PS4 and Xbox One on Jan. 26, 2018 with the PC version launching sometime after.
