When Ratchet & Clank: QForce was launched on the PS3 back in November of last year, the accompanying free copy of the game for Vita (through the cross-buy initiative) was not available. In fact, it was pushed back to January of this year so as to “ensure the best portable Ratchet & Clank experience possible”. And then it was pushed back again, with a new release window of “Spring 2013”. Apparently, they can't narrow it down any more than that, though they hope to “as soon as possible”.
While I'm not sure how many people were expressly interested in buying the game only on Vita, I'll bet there are plenty who bought it on PS3 and thought of the free Vita copy as a nice bonus. And while owning a copy on Vita might not have been something they'd wanted had it not been said it would be available, people don't like to feel they've been let down on a promise.
And so Sony is apologising for the further delay not just with words but with free stuff. Anyone who has bought the PS3 version of the game will receive a download voucher for MotorStorm RC, which will appear in their email inbox before the end of the month and be valid for 60 days. In case that's not enough (and it really shouldn't be, because it's a game that costs less than a fiver), Sony is also offering a free download of Ratchet: Gladiator for PS3 when that becomes available on the PlayStation Store. That is, if it's not delayed.
