Like Assassin’s Creed 3? Want more of it?
You can get more of it. You can do this thing.
The first episode of Ubisoft’s “What If” DLC scenario, similar to Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare, has launched today. In this first episode the game’s Native-American main character Ratonhnhaké:ton (eschewing his adopted name Connor entirely) awakens and finds that his work to bring independence and justice to the United States of America has been for nothing, it’s just resulted with a new king being brought to power. That King? The tyrannical George Washington.
If you’re thinking “I don’t understand, that didn’t happen in real life” then you’re right! It didn’t! That’s what a “What If” story means! Keep up, yeah?
The DLC episodes are available in a Season Pass if that’s your kinda thing. That’s 2400 MS Points or $29.99 on the PS3. If you just want the first episode to check it out and see if you’ll like it first before making a massive commitment to two episodes no one has been able to inform you the quality of, that’lll be 800 MS Ppoints or $9.99 on the PS3. That price says the same for the following two episodes which will be released monthly. Expect “The Betrayal” on March 19th and “The Redemption” on April 23. We can only presume, but in one of them you’ll experience a betrayal and in the other something will be redeemed. Find out for yourself.
This is a great path for DLC to go down, adding value to the game that is outside the main plot and doesn’t require returning to another game in order to experience. We’re yet to know if the DLC makes good on the premise.
