A couple months back Sony announced that their monthly subscription service, PS Plus would be increasing prices – this left some fans dismayed that they’d have to spend extra cash to play online, and others feeling that it was justified considering the quality output of ‘free’ monthly games (with the most recent being Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain)
Right now, Amazon and GameStop are both selling a year of PS Plus for just $40, a significant drop from the usual 60$ price tag. What’s more, the subscription is a redemption code meaning that you’ll get your code emailed to you rather than the card being physically mailed to your P.O. Box, so basically you’ll be able to hop online as soon as you hit purchase.
October’s free games (Amnesia: The Collection, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain) are still available this month up until November 7th whereby we’ll get Worms Battlegrounds, Bound as well as these Vita titles (which are also available on PS4) Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse and Dungeon Punks.
In other news, Sony has recently introduced a credit card, offering gamers a rewards system and exclusive discounts.
‘Sony has teamed up with Capital One to introduced a new method of payment for the PlayStation store: The Sony Credit card. The idea behind the card is to essentially offer gamers rewards program for buying digital sony products, physical sony equipment and paying cellphone bills’
