Epic Games' upcoming Gears of War: Judgment has gone gold. For those not familiar with the term, that means development on the game is essentially finished and that the game is now ready to be manufactured for the horde (ha!) of Gears of War fans.
This little tidbit was revealed by the official Gears of War Facebook page where it shows the staff at People Can Fly celebrating their most important development milestone.
Gears of War: Judgment is a prequel to the original trilogy. Instead of having Marcus Fenix as the protagonist, it will star Damon Baird and Augustus Cole, who are both members of Kilo Squad that have been sentenced for treason, desertion, the theft of military tech and cowardice. Seeing as the game is set 14 years before Gears of War 1, we already know that they won't be incarcerated for long; though that doesn't mean there won't be any surprises here and there.
Speaking of the first game in the series, early buyers of Gears of War: Judgment will receive a free digital download copy of Gears of War 1. While the game is rather old. free is still free, right?
For more on Gears of War: Judgment, you can read up on the game's Achievements list which we posted yesterday.
Gears of War: Judgment will hit store shelves on March 19 exclusively for the Xbox 360.
