The Last of Us will have two special editions which come in the form of the game's two main characters, Joel and Ellie.
While the insides are almost identical, the game's outward packaging will feature either Joel or Ellie. The same is true for the game's PS3 controller skin and an included poster.
The rest of the contents include an artbook for The Last of Us, a comic, and a blu-ray disc containing the game itself.
Additionally, players who purchase either special edition will be treated to a Survival Pack DLC that includes customization items for use in multiplayer; additional in-game currency, to purchase customizable parts and upgrades; two extra skins for both Joel and Ellie's characters that unlock when you finish the game; some experience points to give your player character a small lead; and a special melee attack ability for use in multiplayer.
Finally, the set also includes a dynamic PS3 theme, the soundtrack, and two PSN avatars that no one in their right mind will even care about, really. But it's nice if you do. If you own LittleBigPlanet 2, you'll also get sackboy skins for Ellie and Joel depending on which version you get.
The game, developed by Naughty Dog, is set for release early this year on the PlayStation 3.
