We’re not too far off from the release of Monolith Productions’ upcoming sequel to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, which is Middle-earth: Shadow of War. The video game is still receiving plenty of trailers and marketing campaigns to get the word out of its arrival next month.
The latest trailer is a bit unique as its interactive. Players will go through a series of videos in which your choices and decisions will be played out. You’ll have to head on over to the official Middle-earth: Shadow of War website to see the full interactive trailer as the above video is just the first initial section.
In a sense, this is another means to introduce the Nemesis System featured in the first title in the series and making its way onto the sequel. Overall, the Nemesis System has been overhauled with developers claiming the experience will be more seamless than before.
Essentially, the Nemesis System will have enemies and allies remember past encounters with you resulting in a change of story or gameplay. That’s what the new interactive trailer is offering by giving players an option to make their own choices and seeing how the decision will work out for them as they progress through the videos.
As mentioned, Middle-earth: Shadow of War takes place after the events of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Our protagonist, Talion has agreed to work with Celebrimbor after crafting a new Ring of Power which could be used to take on the returned Sauron and his vast amount of enemies.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War will officially drop on October 10, 2017, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
