With the recent announcement of DOOM making its way to Nintendo’s Switch, fans have been clamoring on for details regarding what to expect from the monster-mashing port for Nintendo’s hybrid console – especially considering the uniqueness of the Switch in comparison to the Xbox One and PS4. Nintendo opted emphasis on different forms of play rather than the usual setup Microsoft and Sony implement every generation, so it will be interesting to see how exactly iD will use this to their advantage.
Speaking to USGamer, a Bethesda spokesperson said that the DOOM port has been built from the group up for the Switch.
“DOOM on Switch is custom-built for the hardware and while graphics won’t be 1:1 with other platforms, the game will deliver the amazing DOOM look and feel that fans are excited to get on Switch,”
Hopefully the “look and feel” means that fans will be able to experience DOOM in 60fps on the console delivering that sharp experience of slaying through hordes of monsters.
DOOM will drop this winter while Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is expected to release sometime in 2018. Earlier this year, Bethesda said that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim would indeed be coming to Nintendo Switch.
