EA has announced that it will be rebooting it’s Medal of Honor franchise with a new Modern-Day setting. The game titled Medal of Honor will take place in war-torn Afghanistan which would be the franchise’s first step in 10 years, away from the WWII theme.
According to EA’s press release, the game will introduce the Tier 1 Operator: a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle. Set against the backdrop of a rugged and brutal Afghan landscape, Medal of Honor depicts modern military operations through the lens of a small band of fictional characters. Inspired by real events, Medal of Honor reveals the mission of today’s most elite American soldier – his will, his mindset and his uncompromising professionalism.
EALA and EA DICE have joined forces to deliver a world-class Medal of Honor that is poised to re-set and re-boot the franchise and come to grips with the current gen games.
Like many other games, Medal of Honor’s first-look Trailer will premier on Spike TV’s 2009 Video Game Awards on Saturday, December 12 at 8 p.m. PT.
