Nintendo just hosted their first-ever Nintendo Direct for the year and in it, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced tje new generation of Pokemon — Pokemon X and Y!
For Poke-fans who were unable to watch it, we've got all the important details listed. Firstly, there will be three new starter Pokemons, there's Fennekin (Fire), Froakie (Water), and Chespin (Grass). Also, there will be two new legendary Pokemons, though we don't know their name for now.
Here are the first images of the three starter Pokemons, as well as the two legendaries.

Nintendo has also revealed that Pokemon X and Y will be the first Pokemon game mostly fully rendered in polygonal 3D, this will include the character models and environments. Speaking of 3D, battles will now be in 3D, too, so don't expect the standard sprite animations when Pokemon duke it out.
Lastly, and I think this is a first time in series history, Pokemon X and Y will launch globally at the same time in October. For now, the specific release date hasn't been revealed yet, but I'm assuming a global launch means at least the U.S., Japan and European territories.
For your first-ever look at the game, we've embedded the entire Nintendo Direct video below. It's only 11-minutes long and even includes a brief history of the franchise. So if you're a Pokemon fan, I gather you'll cherish every minute of it.
Anyone excited to try out these new Pokemon starters? Which one will you be starting off with?
Thanks, NeoGAF
